If you have read some of my other articles, you may have noticed that I enjoy appearances. But before you judge me as a shallow person, let me explain. I enjoy appearances when it comes to products and things, not people. This is why I appreciate product package design and almost anything that has a good design behind it. Of course, as we all know, good design is not only about the outside. A good design also includes practicality and ingenuity. But I digress. What I wanted to say is that I think that a good product deserves a good look. Be it itself, its package or even its wrapping. And here we are to the main subject of today’s article. I want to talk a bit about gift wrapping in general and why I value it so much.
“It’s the thought that counts…”
I’m sure that we have all heard this phrase at one time or another. And I’m not saying I disagree with it by any means. I agree entirely that the thought of the gift counts more than its monetary value. What I want to add to this is that I believe that what the gift looks like should count as well. And this doesn’t mean that you should go and buy the most expensive wrapping paper or gift bag or any of the sort. Nevertheless, if you put a little thought and trouble into the wrapping, I can promise that it will make a real difference.
There are many ways to wrap a gift for any occasion and it can also be done on a very small budget. You only need a bit of inspiration and good intentions. And the person receiving the gift will appreciate the thought you put into the gift as much as the gift itself. A simple wrapping paper or bow will make the difference and convey a strong message to the recipient.
It’s Christmas wrapping paper time!
And since the wonderful Christmas holiday is only a few weeks away, I decided to give you a hand in the presents department. So today we are going to feature a whole collection of gift wrapping paper from one of my favorite home furniture and product stores: IKEA. And you can buy any one of these right from their website. Just follow the link mentioned under the picture if any of these catch you eye or heart.
All of the paper is going to have a winter holiday theme. Therefore, I will return in another article with other themes as well, if you would like me to do so. But for today we are keeping the Christmas holiday cheer throughout the article and I hope you feel the same. Some of these wrapping papers come in sets of 3, some in single rolls. For more information and purchase please visit the IKEA website.
